Abstract :

Disease due to Vibrio harveyi has been a major problem of the penaeid industry. Different various antibiotics used commonly in aquaculture to control the disease, it were very resistance. This study to find out the alternative for the antibiotics using alternative medicine against Vibrio harveyi with in vitro method. Material used as antimicrobial compound in this study was extract of Piper Betle Linn.. The aim of the study was to determine Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) extract of Piper Betle Linn, against Vibrio harveyi. Result of the study showed that extract of Piper Betle Linn, has antimicrobial activity against Vibrio harveyi. Based on MIC data, extract of Piper Betle Linn, were found. inhibit the growth of Vibrio harveyi at 0,19 % and MBC at 0,39 % to kill Vibrio, harveyi.
